About this deal

The Pro 2 2000 has a Li-Ion battery offering 14 days use compared to the 10 days of the NiMH of the Pro 1000. After approximately how many years will the battery cease to hold a useful charge [eg last for only 1 day]?

Made from a gloss white plastic, the Pro 2 2000 comes with either a blue, pink or white rubber grip that runs down the front of the handle, contrasting against the white plastic; whilst the Pro 2 2500 comes with either black or pink rubber down the handle. The whitening brush head has a rubber cup in the middle of it, which looks similar to a hygienist polishing bur. This means moving to a manual brush to complete your toothbrushing and waiting 5-6 hours for it to charge. It has the two essential features that I always look for in an electric toothbrush, a two minute timer and visible pressure sensor. The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 on paper has all the essential features to make a great electric toothbrush; a 2 minute timer with inbuilt quadpacer, visible pressure sensor and a 3D oscillating rotating motion.

Add to this the newer iO Series are not measured using this metric, so many of the newer brushes can’t be compared. However, some brush heads are better suited to certain modes and it would have made more sense in our opinion to have included the Sensitive head given that one of the selling points of the 3000 is that cleaning mode. I can’t comment on how common this is, but environmental factors, such as leaving it sitting in water, can have quite an impact. Every effort is made to ensure the key differences listed are correct, but these differences are subject to change without notice. It is compatible with almost all the Oral-B brush heads and Oral-B have one of the most complete sets of brush heads in the business. We previously had a Oral-B Professional Care 3000 but after two years the Ni-MH batteries where very bad so I got new ones under warranty. For example, the type ‘3766’ also known as model number ‘D501’ is used for the Oral-B GumCare 2, Pro 2, 2000, 2500, 2900, 2950, Pro 1000, Pro 1500, Pro 2000, Pro 3000, Pro 4000, Smart 1500, Smart 2500 brushes. The grip on the rear of the handle comes in the form of lots of dimples compared to the ridges on the 2000.

This can be particularly useful for people with sensitive teeth especially when used in conjunction with the sensitive brush head. The Pro 2 2000W – This is the Pro 2 2000 with 1 x 3D White brush head included in the box, rather than the CrossAction brush head that comes with the Pro 2 2000N. The difference appears to be that the 2900 is marketed and sold in the UK primarily, whilst the 2950N is sold within central Europe in countries like France, the Netherlands etc. You can learn more about this mode and how it differs but reading our article, Oral-B cleaning modes explained. Both aim to give feedback as if a dentist was monitoring your clean, but the 9000 just gives the feedback in a more interactive and instant way. A softer brushing sensation can be achieved by using the softer bristled Sensi UltraThin brush head.

The great number of choices you have within the Oral-B range can make it really quite difficult to decide which toothbrush is right for you. So let us show you in a bit more detail how these two brushes differ and why we came to the conclusions we have. The letter just represents the Brush Head that it comes with, the electric toothbrush handles are exactly the same. The Pro 3 3000 has a larger and more visible light ring that wraps a full 360 degrees around the top of the brush handle. No this has not been designed for children and would highly recommend a toothbrush that had been specially designed for children.Note this is not true unless there is something very wrong with the charging circuitry in the device. If you do end up getting the Oral-B Pro 2 2500W, I would recommend purchasing some CrossAction brush heads separately. Models sold in Australia tend to be based off the UK model range, so it is likely the same as the UK version, but the time of purchase may have a bit of a bearing.
