Defineteley inspiring and quite an amazing person but I think I enjoyed "Mud, Sweat and Tears" a little bit more. Maybe it was because I was reading them too much too close and got a bit tired in the end and it felt a little bit too repetitive. Because generally I'm happy to get the whole story. Along the way, Bear opens up about his most personal challenges, discovers the true value of adventure, and embodies the enduring power of courage, kindness and a never give up spirit. This hoodie can be given as an encouragement or ‘well done’ to anyone who’s struggling with something, persevering, or making a particularly strong effort. He really cares about people, making the planet a better place, the environment, helping others, his family, and being a good person. Bear doesn’t thrive on being famous and he really loves his wife and boys. It comes through clearly in his book. Raamat vastas pooleldi mu ootustele. It's never really clear what drives him. I finished the book not having any sense of why he does so many crazy things and why he thinks others should do them. It seemed like a lot of wasted energy and ultimately (though he never said it) he seems like an unhappy person who can never just "be." He claims to be anxious over all sorts of things, from giving speeches or being on camera to meeting famous people, yet I'm not sure how much of that is an act. He can welcome a poisonous bite from a snake but claim to not want to be in front of a TV camera for an interview after decades of making millions off television?

The chapters aren’t very long and he mentions a lot of stories from different shows or events in his career. Some I knew about, but a lot was new to me. He’s a very interesting person and I love that he lives on an island with his family. The book flows good even though it’s a lot of different topics with his ideas/lessons thrown in. The chapters are fairly short, each one practically its own story or answer to a frequently asked question. I really enjoyed his stories about the celebrities he has taken into the wild and how each of those adventures is set up. Bear also takes some chapters to delve into more personal thoughts on things like fear, faith, and family, and his words are often very inspiring. His family is so important to him, and it was really nice to get to know them better and see how he makes family time a priority, even with his booming career. I haven't read his first memoir, but this one focuses on how he got started in TV, the adventures he's had over multiple shows, and what his life is like today, and since I know him best from his show Running Wild, I thought this seemed like a great place to start! Never Give Up is an autobiographical book by Bear Grylls that focuses on lessons he has learned throughout his various adventures. With short chapters, he chronicles many of his journeys in Man vs. Wild and Running Wild and shares what many of his experiences have taught him. He also shares examples of what continues to motivate him during the toughest times.
