I have found this book to be interesting but not necessarily the most helpful to figure out certain methods.

As a student teacher this book greatly helped me as I was not very confident with maths myself and aided me to be able to feel confident teaching methods to the children. Haylock and Manning's latest edition of this publication is still not improved enough in the numeracy section for me to recommend this to students.
