on a Budget, they share over 80 delicious and hearty recipes, proving once and for all that great tasting food doesn't have to cost the earth. on a Budget, they share over 80 delicious and hearty recipes, proving once and for all that great tasting food doesn’t have to cost the earth. I did read it cover to cover but I’d recommend reading Hilary’s review and the reviews of those readers who tried at least some of the recipes. The Summer smoothie has berries, oat milk, banana, and rolled oats – items almost everyone has in their fridge and pantry.

From hearty midweek dinners and comfort food feasts to indulgent brunches and unbelievably tasty treats, this book is also packed with money-saving hacks and batch-cooking tips and tricks. So far, my picks have been the quick recipes which didn’t feel too much of a stretch such as Jane’s Spanish stew, which is a delicious easy one-pot dish. Yes, I can always leave out and substitute ingredients and change amounts, and I do for most recipes. Whether you’re living completely meat-free, or just looking to introduce more meat-, dairy- and egg-free meals into your week, this is the money-saving cookbook for you.Number one Sunday Times bestselling authors Henry and Ian know how to make outrageously tasty, super satisfying food without breaking the bank. I really appreciate they haven't just made a collection of some of their more affordable recipes but have come up with some really good ideas!

They do give some good cost saving tips such as eating seasonal produce and using up what produce is on hand, which is also one good way to avoid food waste, and of course things such as cooking from scratch and batch cooking. I also question the amount of plant-based sausage included, since that’s not cheap, and I’ve seen recipes (not here) for making your own that would be at least a little more cost effective.

I’m also dying to try out the bread-meat doner kebab and the Indian-style Shepherd’s Pie when I have more time on my hands. The renowned vegan cooking duo, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby, have created another plant-based cookbook; but this time they’re focusing on dispelling the myth that vegan cooking is expensive. Perhaps if it had been approached with a ‘when you get some free time’ or ‘this is a great way to spend a quiet weekend’ attitude then it would’ve felt more relevant.

on a Budget , they share over 100 delicious recipes and prove that great tasting food doesn’t have to cost the earth. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. Two small downsides for me, the cover is awful and downgrades the appearance of the quality of recipes the book contains, there are some beautiful photographs of great food inside, I've no idea why they've pictured a burger and the colour scheme of yellow and cerise is garish.

You can find the recipes for Creamy Carbonara, Crispy Chilli Tofu, Curry Crusted Sweet Potatoes and our Jackfruit Tacos.Pide look like boat-shaped Turkish versions of pizza, their sides gathered up and pinched together to hold a thick layer of delicious filling. One of the recipes I tested was the “Kimchi Udon Noodles”, which seemed like it would be complicated and full of hard-to-find ingredients. Surely a budget recipe book will be aimed appealing to people who don't have kitchen equipment like that? I found a recipe that’s quite close in a cookbook of British origin that turns out to have been part of the Bosh!
