About this deal

You can control the temperature directly from the radiator thermostat, from the control terminal, from your phone, and even using your voice by asking Alexa. It’s truly remarkable how simple it is for something so versatile and useful. We disliked Schedules can conveniently be copied between zones and days, so you don’t have to program every single change. We found that it took us a few weeks to get our schedules right, but we ended up only heating zones as we needed them. If you have a small home, this should not be an issue, but if you have a larger home you’ll want to ensure the system can expand enough and keep the cost in mind too as it can soon mount up, especially for the systems that require a thermostat in every room as well as the valves.

This is what I have in my house and most of my rooms are set to “4”, with some set to “3” if a particular room tends to get a little too hot. Evohome is Honeywell’s smart heating ecosystem. The biggest benefit of this system is that it can incorporate almost any kind of heating or cooling system in to one platform. This includes hot water, underfloor heating, electric radiators and more. Choose this option if you plan to expand your smart home in the future to add other forms of heating. You can create zoned heating If you want smart heating where you can control the temperature and whether the heating is on or off in each room, smart radiator valves allow you to do this. Whilst some smart devices work ‘out the box’ as long as you have an Echo Dot, Google Nest speaker or Apple HomePod, some smart home enthusiasts rely on a proper smart home hub to manager their smart home. Samsung SmartThings used to be the most popular type of smart hub, and there are two main smart valves that work fine with this hub:As a result if you have a Nest or ecobee thermostat, your only real options are to integrate them with your smart home hub and then buy a compatible smart valve. I’ve seen some valves that have HomeKit support, meaning that you could setup some custom automation routines that combine your smart thermostat and smart radiator valves. Yes this isn’t direct integration, but it’s still a big step towards a truly smart (and automated) heating system. If you’re the sort of household that leaves all the doors open, you’re going to have a problem with temperature bleed between rooms, a particular problem if you’ve rooms or corridors without radiators. Smart radiator valves let you remotely schedule your homes temperature room-by-room, letting you take control of, and ideally save money on, your energy this winter.

Many homes already have thermostatic radiator valves (or TRVs for short) on their radiators. They work by detecting the temperature of the room, and turn the radiator on or off depending on whether the room needs heating up or not. It’s easy to put a schedule together, although it does take a little while to get all the timings correct. Once put together, you can easily adjust the temperature goal for a certain time period by tapping it and moving the scroll wheel to the desired temperature. With some kits, you need to install a boiler link or replace your timer control panel – this may cause issues if you already have a smart thermostat Netatmo’s energy app allow you to set up and control your heating from anywhere in the world. This is particualrly helpful for when you’re away from the home as the absent mode maintains the minimum amount of actviity to prevent frost build up. This best list covers everything from single thermostats to full-on multi-room systems with individual control. We’ve also included a wide range of brands such as Honeywell, Nest and Tado, to name a few.The comprehensive range of Honeywell Evohome Controls include replacement Thermostatic Radiator Controllers. The replacement controllers have a Honeywell product code description of HR92UK.
