If you're looking for a night of fantastic, fiery, and funky food then look no further than this incredible 6 course Mexican cantina style feast from the phenomenally talented Tara's Table.
This gastronomic delight of an evening is inspired by Tara's culinary travels around Mexico; during her adventures she noted down the recipes of the best things she ate, chatting with the chefs along the way and picking their brains for tips and family recipes. Now she's back and cooking up a storm at Spike Island Café for this fantastic one-off event – you'd be mad to miss it! Get a gang of your closest pals together, or rally the whole family for a deliciously informal, exciting night of cantina-inspired fun and food. The full menu will be revealed in due course, but here's a sneaky taster of what's to come:
- Sopa Azteca – a deeply savoury traditional Mexican tortilla soup
- Chalupas verdes y rojos – an addictive street food dish made with deep-fired dough and delicious fresh fillings
- Mole poblano – a traditional Mexican recipe, Tara got this recipe from a family-run restaurant in Puebla, when the restaurant owner jotted down the 22-ingredient recipe in Tara's journal!
Of course, this being a Mexican cantina style feast, there'll be obligatory shots of free tequila, and the bar will be open all night for you to purchase crisp, cooling beers and more. Bliss!
