Join us for an 'I am Making Art' session, hosted by Spike Island, taking place on Saturday 3rd of March in Spike Island Cafe
Create sculptures and projections from found materials inspired by Iman Issa’s current exhibition with Laura Phillimore of Dream & Make. This session is particularly suited to children aged 5 to 11.
These monthly activity sessions are led by artists and take place in the Spike Island Café. Visitors of all ages and abilities can try out new techniques and approaches to making art, from drawing and painting to collage, sculpture and animation and are invited to drop in any time during the session.
Laura Phillimore (b. London, 1984) works across a variety of mediums including installation, sculpture and collage and trained at Bristol Old Vic theatre school in Theatre and Costume design. Her diverse background in performance and theatre design, invites audiences into playful and often surreal visual narratives in her art work.
She is currently working on a number of community focussed projects and is founder of Dream & Make, exploring narrative led immersive art experiences for children and families in London and the South West.
Laura is Learning Curator at Gerald Moore Gallery in London.
