The Excalibur car seat can be securely fitted into your vehicle by using Isofix connection points, top-tether and/or by the adult 3 point seat belt making it compatible with a number of vehicles. So confident, in fact, that I persuaded my daughter’s grandparents to take delivery of the Cozy N Safe so we could test it out in their car and I wouldn’t have to part with my own beloved car seat. A second-hand seat bought through a second-hand shop or through the classified ads may have been involved in an accident and any damage to the seat that can weaken it may not be visible. Unless you can be absolutely certain of a second-hand car seat’s history, because it comes from a family member or a friend, it is best not to use one. The common car seat route is to buy a Group 0+ infant carrier that’s travel system compatible, i.e. that can slot onto a pushchair chassis. Then between 12-15 months you buy the next stage seat a Group 1 that can either be rear or forward facing, and then finally a Group 2 seat at around age four. But this is not the only way, and if money is tight or you don’t plan on using a car seat regularly, a combination car seat could be the way forward. Many of these seats span around 2 car seat stages with Group 0+/1 and Group 2/3 being particularly popular. The Excalibur will fit your child for three of the stages, from group 1-3. If the instructions are missing or any of the parts, it makes it more difficult to be sure that it is fitted correctly and that it is safe. When my boy falls asleep in the seat he looks really supported so I’m happy for him to fall asleep in the car. It’s really easy to move the seat and change the recline on it – some car seats can be really fiddly but this was simple to change. So you can alter the seat when my boy is asleep rather than have to wake him up. It’s also easy to tighten the straps, it’s not a struggle like my old seat was. The fact that you can recline the seat is amazing and adjusting it is really simple by pulling a handle at the front of the seat. If you know your child is ready for a nap or you’re driving in the evening or at night and you want them to fall asleep, definitely recline the seat for them to make them more comfortable. No more heads bobbing forward as your child falls asleep in the car! Allrepairs are undertaken by the manufacturer, independent of Little Angels Prams, but we will facilitate all collections and repairs.
Babies can legally move to a forward-facing seat at the 9kg minimum weight, however moving your child at 9kg forward-facing is not as safe as having them rear-facing.Multi-group car seats can be cheaper as they are convertible car seats and your child will grow with the car seat.
