About this deal
Like the D2, the Evoke D4 is also available with Bluetooth. This lets you stream internet radio or MP3s from your phone, MP3 player or laptop (provided they have Bluetooth). The Evoke D4 with Bluetooth comes in a maple veneer casing. It has the same features and design as the regular D4 except for offering Bluetooth connectivity. This radio has Bluetooth so you can stream audio from a phone, tablet or laptop wirelessly. There’s also an aux-in port for connecting devices that don’t have Bluetooth. We make sure to test each model in a range of environments and against its chief competitors too, so you can be sure that the product will work just as well in your home, in whichever spot you've chosen to put it. We live with these radios in our homes to make sure that the performances are consistent, and we don't finalize our testing until we are certain of the sound quality.
The standard Evoke D4 with Bluetooth radio comes in maple casing, but you can choose from a range of colours in the Evoke D4 Mio with Bluetooth range. The colours on offer are the same as those in the Evoke D2 with Bluetooth range (raspberry, almond, aloe, cerulean, charcoal, pewter, scarlet). The Pure Evoke C-F6 might seem expensive, but given that it’s an all-in-one system with a great combination of features it offers, it seems to offer very good value for money. The radio looks beautiful and offers plenty of features with excellent all-round performance. The main difference between the Evoke D6 and the Evoke D4 is that the D6 has two built-in speakers, offering stereo sound. This radio has an attractive real oak wood design. Features The Evoke C-F6 is designed to be as attractive as it is functional, and it would make a nice addition to the interior of most homes. Like all radios in the Evoke range, the Evoke C-F6 has a beautiful wooden finish and feels well made and reassuringly heavy. ControlThis radio isn’t cheap, but it looks and sounds fantastic. Unlike many other DAB radios, it offers stereo sound thanks to the two built-in speakers. If you don’t mind spending a bit more to get a really top-quality product, the Evoke D6 with Bluetooth is a good buy. You can also get an Evoke D2 bluetooth DAB radio with a papercut casing designed by Rob Ryan , or one with a Sanderson wallpaper design, if you want something really quirky. If being able to listen to CDs is important to you, the Evoke C-D4 is a great digital radio/CD player combo. If you’re just interested in listening to the radio, or are content with connecting the radio to your phone or laptop, the Evoke D4 will do the job at a more affordable price. The Evoke C-F6 is compatible with Spotify Connect which means you can control Spotify from your phone, tablet or laptop and then stream it through the radio’s high-quality speakers using Bluetooth. This is a very useful feature to have if you’re a Spotify addict and want to enjoy your music through some top-quality speakers.
Connectivity is a strong suit of the Evoke C-F6, boasting both Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN capabilities. It adheres to Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g, providing seamless wireless connections. Additionally, Bluetooth functionality is included, allowing for easy pairing with compatible devices. The C-F6 also has a sleep timer which you can set from 15 to 60 minutes so you can fall asleep while listening to the radio. Design If you're still using an analogue FM radio, it might be time to switch over to a digital radio instead. That's because DAB radios offer a wider range of stations to choose from and the sound tends to be crisper as there's less disturbance.
Performance and use
It's important for us to compare the performance of each product against the specs claimed by its manufacturers, which is why we take the time to ensure the battery life (in portable models), connectivity, feature set and sound quality is as good as the brands say it is. The Evoke C-F6 comes with a handy remote control which is good for basic controls like changing the volume. The remote control uses watch batteries, which is a bit inconvenient when it comes to replacing the batteries. On the day of the update, your radio device will lose connection to all its stored internet radio stations. This will be indicated via an error message on the screen and a voice prompt asking you to power cycle the device. To allow a clean set-up of the update and the switch-over to Frontier Silicon Nuvola you will need to perform a factory reset after the power cycle. For in-depth guidance on what needs to be done to complete the update, please have a look at the following video: Can only be stored on the radio through the Nuvola portal, after the radio has been connected and a login at the portal has been created.
