'Tis the season to be jolly, and also to eat and drink so much that you need to enter hibernation and stay there until spring.
Our own Alex from Folk House Cafe will be bringing you a Russian feast, including a shot of delicious iced vodka, with a side dish of tales from the vast lands of old Russia.
Join us this December in Spike Island Cafe for a Traditional Russian storytelling & Christmas feast, including Borsch, Herring, Smoked meats, Blini, all served with plenty of vodka!
Our storyteller will take you through tales of Christmas & New Year in Russia, following the revolution in 1917, through the days of the Soviet Union, and stories of Russian Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years traditional celebrations.
We will also be explaining the different traditions of specific items served in the feast that you'll be eating, such as the story of the Borsch, the Russian Salad & it's mysterious recipe, and dreams of Blini.
Tickets are £30 (including a shot of vodka!) They can be purchased online through Wriggle, (https://www.getawriggleon.com/o/bristol-spike-island-cafe-traditional-russian-storytelling-christmas-feast) or in store.
The event takes place between 7.30-10.30pm on Friday 8th December - get a group of pals together and settle in for the night. We think this would be a uniquely superior alternative to the usual torture of the work office Christmas party.
Vegetarian options are available so please contact us to provide any dietary requirements when booking.
